WALNUT CREEK, CA (June 26, 2012) – Leading Edge Certification (LEC), a national Alliance of nonprofits, universities and educational agencies, today announced the launch of its Administrator Certification, a national educational technology certification program available for school administrators and the second certification now available through Leading Edge Certification.

 

“Never has their been more opportunities in technology leadership than what we have right now,” said Rowland Baker, chair of Leading Edge Administrator Certification and Director of Technology Information Center for Administrative Leadership (TICAL), adding, “Leading Edge Administrator Certification, developed by leaders, for leaders, creates a pathway to guide administrators through this rapidly changing landscape.”

 

LEC’s Administrator Certification provides administrators with the know how to effectively utilize technology tools, resources and innovative solutions to advance student achievement, foster educator productivity and extend learning opportunities for all. The leadership training offered through Administrator Certification is based on building skills to lead schools in the 21st Century. The curriculum of LEC for the Administrator includes topics such as: Leading the Learning; Millennial Learning Environments; Infusing Innovation; Data-Driven Systematic Improvement and Digital Citizenship.

Leading Edge Administrator Certification curriculum is currently available, and trainings will begin later this summer. The Administrator Certification is offered by both Leading Edge Core and Stakeholder Alliance members, and is a 4-6 week course that is delivered through a combination of face-to-face and online trainings.
